The Best Book Adaptation I've Seen Recently

With all of the book adaptations coming out in the next couple of years I think a really good one was overlooked in all the hooplah. I recently rented Twelve from my local videostore because I have an insane girl-crush on Emma Roberts so I didn't really have any expectations. Only a couple of minutes in and my mine was blown. Now that I've read the book it is so insane how closely the movie captured the essence of the book, and it's so rare when that happens. It has been a long time since I've seen a movie like this. Twelve is an absolutely GORGEOUS movie! Guys, if you have the time to watch it then I beg you to do it!

I leave you with the trailer so you can get a taste of what I'm trying to say!

Based on the controversial Nick McDonell novel, "Twelve" follows high school dropout turned successful drug dealer White Mike (Chace Crawford) in New York's Upper East Side. Business is booming when all of the kids are home from boarding school and everyone has money to blow. Mike leads a double life, concealing the truth from his childhood friend Molly (Emma Roberts) while his supplier Lionel (Curtis Jackson) pulls Mike further into the world of the Manhattan drug trade. Mike's two lives begin to collide when his cousin is brutally murdered on an East Harlem playground and a new drug, twelve, emerges as the recreational drug of choice.

I just want to note this for my younger readers: there is nudity in this movie!

Oh, nice. I really do want to see this one. I haven't read the book but I've seen it around and had it on my Need to Read list for FOREVER...seriously, a long time, so I was excited to see a movie was out and I like Emma as well. ;-) Need to see/read both now.
